The Australian Society for the Study of Labour History, Melbourne Branch, is sponsoring a talk on the 8 Hour Day in the context of the Howard government's revolution in Australian working life.
The speakers are:
Martin Kingham, Victorian Secretary of the Construction and General Division of the CFMEU, star witness at the Building Industry Royal Commission and Chair of the 888 150th Anniversary Organising Committee.
Dr Julie Kimber, Executive Member of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History, Melbourne Branch and member of the 888 150th Anniversary Organising Committee.
Dr Peter Love, Executive Member of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History, Melbourne Branch and member of the 888 150th Anniversary Organising Committee.
The customary modest fee to meet the cost of room hire applies.
